The capacity of each sulfur recovery unit is 650 MTPD and the system is designed and operates based on CLAUS processing system.
The 4th unit shall be built neighboring the 3rd unit in the battery limit of Khangiran Refinery.

The reasons and objectives to build a new SRU unit are:

  • Environmental issues
  • Increasing sulfur production
  • Increasing catalysts’ life time
