Revamping and up-rating of Abadan Refinery Crude Distillation Project: Polyethylene Pipes and Fitting Production Factory Client: National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Owner: National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Location: Abadan, Iran Abadan Refinery is now experiencing a pronounced change in crude composition, which not only is becoming heavy, but also sour. In addition, the situation is further aggravated by the fact that salt content of the crude is increased. These changes have direct effect on fouling of heat exchangers and increasing in corrosion rate.     In order to overcome such difficulties, improve heat recovery and reduce load on furnaces, Abadan Refinery have decided to install desalting facilities, and modify preheat system in crude distillation units, No. 70, 75 and 80. The facilities include the following: 1. Revamping and up-rating of the Atmospheric Distillation Unit (CDU 85) including preheat and Desalting System and Flash Drum. 2.Vacuum Distillation Unit. 3.Visbreaker 4. Tempered Water System, Sour Water Stipper, Storage Tanks and Visbreaker Pump House. Tehran Raymand was in charge of preparing the Specifications and Data sheets for Fixed Equipment.
